Bulova was founded by Joseph Bulova in the 1870’s. He arrived in 1870 in Manhattan, New York after immigrating from Bohemia when only nineteen years of age. He immediately opened his very own jewelry shop located in Lower Manhattan on Maiden Lane. This was thought of as the center of the jewelry industry in New York City. It was opened under the name of J.Bulova. Joseph Bulova rapidly became well known in the industry for the quality and innovative designs that he produced. He had a unique technique and showed true artistry in all his works.
Over the years that followed, Mr. Joseph Bulova opened a plant that produced wrist watches and components. With more and more demand, Bulova, the company, grew into a mega in the industry. Today, Bulova continues to grow and expand their product lines. This company continues to produce top quality and dependable clocks for the home as well as many business and other venues. Customer satisfaction is a major goal of Bulova and a drive that keeps the company producing fine products. In the year of 2000, Bulova celebrated 125 years. In New York, the mayor certified Friday, April the 10th as official “BULOVA DAY”.
