Office Chairs

Choosing an office chair that is comfortable enough to sit in for hours on end is important. An ill-sitting chair can be hard to deal with, and it can have ill effects on your health, too.  Poor seating while working can lead not only to back problems, but to neck, side, and even leg pain!  Choose a chair that is the proper height, and that is adjustable so that you can sit in different positions during the course of your work day if need be.

You want your chair to be appropriately tall or short enough to accommodate your desk, and it should swivel around so that you don’t have to put your body in compromising positions to reach things that are near your desk, like your printer stand, for instance.  Your chair should also have a high back that supports your back in comfort, and ideally, it should be on wheels so that you can move back and forth in the immediate area around your desk without standing up.  Your chair should also have arm rests, ideally, so that you can put your arms in a comfortable position as you are typing.

Choosing a chair that sits “good” and that looks good is important to most people who have a home office, or who are choosing a chair for their professional office.  It is also important that the chair is easy to keep clean and made of material that is comfortable to the touch. Soft leather is a good choice, as is cloth.  Steer clear of any material that tends to make you sweat or that is hard to keep clean.
